.IN OVERDUE 2021 Russia started welding metal crates over the turrets of its own containers, in an attempt to protect all of them coming from assault. The crates confirmed inefficient-- some Western side analysts amusingly termed them "emotional-support armour". Currently Russia has launched an even more extensive retrofit, using metal sheet to completely enclose several of its own tanks. The new armour has gotten the vehicles the nickname "tortoise storage tanks". Will kitting them out thus really help?
